Borderland

shortfilm, 12 minutes, 2007
University of Theatre and Film Arts, Hungary

The story of Borderland takes place somewhere in the Hungarian lowlands in the year 1962. In this decade of Hungarian history it was typical for poor farmers from the countryside to move to big industrial cities, or to the capital of Hungary, Budapest, with the hope of a better life. These men left there families, and most of them found an other wife (or other sexual partners) in the cities, and most of them became alcoholics because of the circumstances. This situation is no different today.
